Kara Wallace-Head Volleyball Coach/Flour Bluff High School Coach is in her 21st year of teaching and coaching. She has been the head volleyball coach for 15 years while also coaching basketball for 6 of the total 21 years. The Hornets have been to the playoffs every year while under her direction and made 6 regional tournament appearances. This past 2025 season her varsity volleyball team won the Division 1 5A State championship making history at their school. She has been recognized by TGCA and AVCA for accumulating her 400th win which brings her to 444 wins as a head coach. Coach Wallace has been named Coach of the Year by her district multiple times including this 2023 and 2024 season. She was named South Texas Coach of the Year in 2023 and 2024. In addition, Coach Wallace was named UIL COY by Texas Volleyball Insiders and Blue Bell/TSWA COY in 2024.
Coach Wallace is from Hutto, Texas where she garnered a state runner up and state championship title. Following high school, she went on to play Division I collegiate volleyball at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. After graduating from college, she took a coaching position at Flour Bluff where she has remained. She has also coached club teams during her time here in Corpus and loves coaching the 12s crossfire team at CC Force while fulfilling her director’s duties currently.
When Coach Wallace isn’t in season, she enjoys working out, reading, traveling, being outdoors, shopping, cheering on her three children and hanging out with her husband, kids and friends.
